November 3, 2010–Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Dallas Stars–Preview
The Pittsburgh Penguins started their four-game road trip on the right foot with a 3-0 win in Carolina on Saturday, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Brent Johnson got his 5th victory of the season and is now 5-0-1 as a starter.
The Pens enter Dallas with a 6-5-1 record and a collection of injuries. It looks like Evgeni Malkin and Zbynek Michalek are good to go Wednesday, but the Pens will still be without Jordan Staal for another six weeks due to a wrist injury. According to Coach Dan Bylsma, Kris Letang and Alex Goligoski will be game-time decisions. The Pens are still indecisive on their starting goaltender, but it looks like Johnson will get the nod tonight. The Pens are going to be looking for a big game from their star #87 Sidney Crosby amidst the injury situation. If there was ever a good time for the Pens to break out of this slump, it will be tonight on the power play, where the Pens look to expose Dallas’ penalty kill which ranks last in the NHL.
The Stars enter second in the Pacific Division with a 6-4 record. They have lost four out of their last six and will be looking for a big game from their leading goal scorer Brenden Morrow. They will also look for big plays from their star Brad Richards. Kari Lehtonen (5-4-0) is likely to get the start in net and has looked solid so far this season.
The puck will drop around 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time and will be broadcasted on FSN Pittsburgh. Check back daily for more Pens previews.
