The Pirates have acquired SP Vance Worley from the Twins for cash considerations. Worley, 26, has had MLB success with the Phillies, and pitched 2 games for them in the 2011 NLDS. He was hit hard last year postings 7.21 ERA in 48.2 innings for the Twins, Worley saw a drastic decrease in K/9 and was plagued by an unsustainably high .401 BABIP, 15.5 FB/HR%, and low 65.2 LOB%. Worley induces ground balls at a high rate and has good control. Worley is a great no risk, high reward type pickup for the Pirates. He will begin the season with AAA Indianapolis.
