This Friday is National Red Rose Day, we celebrate this day to honor America’s most popular flower. June is also the time that the Red Rose is in full bloom with its vibrant colors.

The Red Rose is used as a symbol of love and affection, making this flower the most popular wedding flower in the US. With over 110 million roses sent for Valentine’s Day and over 70% of them are red.

The Pittsburgh Rose Society, along with The Garden Club of McKeesport will be hosting a Rose Day event at Renziehausen Park on Saturday, June 13 starting at 1:00 pm. For more information on this event please visit PGHRoseSociety.org.

Also, don’t forget about the Pittsburgh Botanical Garden, to see not only roses, but also to see many more beautiful flowers.
