If your frequenting the south side, it all begins and usually ends with Mario’s South Side Saloon. Sure, it’s usually packed, but for singles, that’s a great thing. Professional athletes frequent the establishment. I can’t recall how many times I’ve ran into Hines Ward or Jordan Staal there. Max Talbot used to live right behind the place because he enjoyed Mario’s that much.  We examine one of the most popular Pittsburgh bar’s even further.

Mario’s is awesome because while they are non smoking- you can walk through a hallway and enter a room where smoker’s can enjoy every last drag of a good cig.

Your chances of taking someone home for the night increase dramatically at Mario’s

Mario’s is known as a great place for live music. Wednesday night’s in particular!

One of the best places in Pittsburgh to watch a game says www.buzzntheburgh.com

We particularly love Mario’s because they are extremely humble!

Look at how they present themselves on their website-

About Mario’s

Clip taken from their website’s about us page- keep in mind they are the biggest bar in South Side and really could do as they please!

We would love to tell you that the success of Mario’s South Side Saloon was born of the blood, sweat, and tears of three hard working professionals who possessed unparalleled vision, but that would be stretching it…In truth, Mario’s was created by a local Pittsburgh legend named Bob Pessolano in 1982. After 25 years of devotion to his South Side patrons, he retired in 2007 and left his establishment to 3 young professional drinkers who had the foresight to not fix which was not broken…

Today we are a unique blend of Neighborhood, College, and Sport’s Bar all rolled into one. We offer our customers a welcoming and relaxed environment where friends both old and new can hang out, where you can test your wits at Team Trivia, enjoy live music, and catch your favorite Sport’s team.

After nearly 30 years in the South Side, Mario’s begins its expansion with it’s sights set on Shadyside and it’s many East Side residents.

That’s just one of many reason’s why we chose to feature Mario’s on this segment. We will be visiting Mario’s this Saturday to take pictures of the crowd and to show you their specials and thing’s of that nature. Check back Sunday night for more details of this phenomenal establishment! In the meantime follow me on Twitter @joshk65 for updates on Saturday night!
