Jordan York Pittsburgh Hip Hop Feature

1. What first got you interested in the music industry?

It was really just having fun with it than it just kinda turn into something. I always try to keep the fun in it because at the end of the day that’s what it’s about.

2. You started out as “Young Roach”, but recently changed your music name to your real name, Jordan York. Why the name change?

I just think the name change is just me maturing as a person Young Roach is cool but Jordan York is more of a mainstream name easier to push to radio and such things.

3. Not only do you reach out to your fans with your music, you also have helped out with many local charities. Which one meant the most to you?

They all mean a lot to me. This fall I will be working with kids to teach them the importance about Anti-Bullying.

4. How do you approach writing your songs or come up with a new beat?

I work with alot of different producers and beat makers so it all depends on what type of song I am going for a radio and more serious song takes longer than just a mixtape or freestyle song. I like to freestyle alot that what kind of rapper I started out as.

5. What can we look forward to from Jordan York in the future?

Alot of exciting things, I am currently working with Producer ” Stefan Schecter ” of Straight and Narrow Productions. He has produced for Mac Miller, Beedie Pacewon, and Freeway to name a few…So be on the look out for that single…Also I will be starting my ” Speak Up Campaign ” this fall to help teach kids the importance of Anti-Bullying. My upcoming Show are this Friday at Mogie’s Bar and Grill in Lower Burrell and August 19th in New York at SOB’s with N.O.R.E. with more TBA shorty.
