105.9 The X played the Daily Grind and right away Myles Mahoney started receiving the phone calls from his friends. “It was the coolest thing man, other people hearing us on the radio and calling to tell us,” said Mahoney. Mahoney is the lead guitarist for the Daily Grind, one of the biggest up and coming Alternative Rock bands in the Pittsburgh area.
Matthew Majot, the Bass player for the group has noticed the following as well. “A few months ago, we started getting phone calls regularly,” said Majot. People were calling to find out more about the Daily Grind including Seth Conner, a music promoter with plenty of experience specifically in national tour arrangement. Thanks to Conner, Daily Grind will go on national tour in March 2014.
What appears to be a grueling tour is lined up will include a total of 47 shows in a two month time frame. They will be playing 5 shows in Colorado and they will also be playing a 3 day tenure in sunny LA. For the west coast portion, Majot and Mahoney are undoubtedly excited. “A lot of the guys in the band are excited about heading West,” said Majot.
The Daily Grind has received attention from Pittsburgh area transplants that have moved to to the West Coast. Burbank California resident Christina Happ, formerly of the Pittsburgh area (Steubenville, OH) received a video of Daily Grind’s music from a Facebook Friend. She started playing the Daily Grind mixed in with her everyday favorites and her California friends instantly felt a connection with the Pittsburgh based Alternative rock band.
“Tell them Christina Happ approves and has been playing them to her friends all the way out in California,” said an excited Happ.
With a strong fan base already established in Pittsburgh, Daily Grind looks to build a fan base with their first national tour. The tour city’s are listed below.
